Memory Verse June 26 – July 1, 2012

“Not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth” (2 Corinthians 10:18).

Grace and peace.

This week’s memory verse reminds us to humble ourselves.  The Bible teaches, “there is none good, no not one” (Romans 3:10).  So, it is not because of any personal righteousness that we possess that makes us children of the Most High God, but it is because of the righteousness of Jesus Christ that we have been approved by the Father.

It helps to remember this from time to time when Satan tries to give us a self-righteous attitude.  We are somebody because Jesus says so, not because we do.

Be encouraged and look up, for your redemption draweth nigh.
