European Soccer Championship: Germany: 0, Italy: 2 Halftime 21:59 GMT

Grace and peace, saints.

Italy is up 2:0 over Germany, thanks to two goals by Italy’s Mario Balotelli.  The first goal was a header after a nice pass, and the second a powerful kick that sailed behind Germany’s goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer, and just missed the sidebar of the net.

Germany missed four chances to score early in the match; one was a nice opportunity for Sami Kidheira when the Italian goalkeeper failed to reign in a blocked kick.  But he missed it.

The second half is just getting under way and Germany’s Kloze has come in for Mario Gomez and Reus has come in for Kroos.  Italy hasn’t made any substitutions.  Germany is looking very aggessive now, and has attacked twice in five minutes, but with no score as of yet.
